For the last 75 years these beautiful hanging flower baskets have been a fixture on the downtown streets of Victoria, to be enjoyed by visitors and locals alike. As someone who has grown up in Victoria they are a sure sign that summer is close at hand. - Fern

Situated on the far west coast of Canada, on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, Victoria is the capital city of the Province of British Columbia. Its benign climate (the warmest winters in Canada) and placid lifestyle make it a favorite retirement location as well as a popular tourist destination. About 400,000 people live in Victoria and adjacent communities.

Any time I see baskets hanging from lampposts, I end up comparing them to Victoria's and NOTHING measures up. I was surprised, however, that they aren't used year round with fall flowers & greens in winter.
