Autumn seems to be the high season for mushrooms but there are some that pop up in the spring too. These little ones were growing in the moss in Highrock Park.

Excellent photo with colourful mushrooms.
Excellent shot!!!
Pretty!
Say, I was on a free jigsaw puzzle site and searched for Victoria themed puzzles. One of the choices was for Hatley Castle. I'd never heard of it before! If you are taking requests, I'd love to see pics of it sometime. I had to google it. Can't believe all those trips I made, it was never suggested. Esp. since I drove through Colwood/Sooke on a couple of trips.
Thanks Andy, Stephanie and JoJo.
@JoJo: Hatley Park and Castle is a favourite of mine but posts about it were more common a few years ago. Here's one: Hatley Park. It is certainly worth a visit and the Italian Garden is wonderful.
Hi Ben! Thanks for the link. What a gorgeous place!!! I can't believe I never heard of it. Even at Craigdarroch none of the guides mentioned it.
@JoJo - It was built by the son of the man who built Craigdarroch. When the family no longer lived there it was used for many years as a military college called Royal Roads. This morphed sometime in the last 10 or 15 years into Royal Roads University. Hatley Castle serves as an administration building. However, the castle and attached garden are open to the public and well worth a visit.
Terrific shot!
