Mushroom season is definitely upon us and I'm addicted to these micro-environments. All the green seems to have fled from the macrocosm to the microcosm.
I really appreciate the quality of light in these close-ups. They have a bright but soft quality that makes the colours fully "saturated". Mushrooms are great subjects and fascinating in varieties.
Situated on the far west coast of Canada, on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, Victoria is the capital city of the Province of British Columbia. Its benign climate (the warmest winters in Canada) and placid lifestyle make it a favorite retirement location as well as a popular tourist destination. About 400,000 people live in Victoria and adjacent communities. Click the photos to see them larger!

I remember back in CA how many people would get sick, and die, from picking the wrong mushrooms. Got to be so careful.
Wow, what an extraordinary image... so rich in lush green and textures...
