Sparrow

Though the day started with rain, by noon the sun was out and we had another brilliant warm afternoon. This was good for me because I was anxious to get out and try the next bunch of bird photography experiments. I am very pleased with the above photo since it tells me that if I just take time and learn patience I can capture these little creatures as I see them. This is a sparrow - of which there are many kinds. My guess is that it is a Savannah Sparrow (Passerculus sandwichensis) and I bless his little heart for posing so beautifully.

Aw, this picture makes me jealous! I was in a blizzard today and you are surrounded by flowers, birds and green grass!! Great photo.

What a beautiful shot of an adorable little birdie!!

Here in WA, the daffodils and crocuses are already pushing their way up, thanks to this unseasonably mild January!

I have a very soft spot in my heart for these common sparrows. Lovely image! I'm assuming this wasn't photographed recently, though, from the daisy?

Thanks all for your kind remarks.

Chuck - yes those little flowers look very summery but the photo was taken only a few hours before it was posted.

Very lovely photo Benjamin! Such a sweet little bird. I have doves and blackbirds at my window and am trying to capture pics of the blue tits but they appear so rarely and move so quickly.

I love those little daisies in the grass. My daughter in Victoria says her blossoms are also coming out now.
