Gray Day

I went out to Macaulay Point today to see if I could spy some different kinds of birds. Tomorrow I'll post a few photos of what I saw but to set the scene here's what it was like today looking from Macaulay Point in Esquimalt across the Strait of Juan de Fuca towards the Olympic Peninsula. (For those not from this part of the world: those mountains are in the USA. The rocks in the foreground are in Canada.)

Cool photo! Four layers: rocks, water, clouds, snow topped mountains!

It may have been a gray day, but this scene is absolutely gorgeous! I can imagine waking up to those mountains as the view from my back deck!

A good opportunity to thank our southern neighbours for providing the city of Victoria with a beautiful mountain range to view across the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

Sarah Palin can see Russia, we can see the U.S. .

it´s a very beautiful image, i love the way the clouds look like. I imagine it must have been a very cold day, haven´t it?

Hello from Washington! *waves*

What a beautiful photo. I found myself shooting a lot of photos of the Olympics when I was last in Victoria in 2007.

Gray day, but you really made a handsome capture with layers of texture.
