The weather warmed up a bit today, almost springlike, and when I saw these snowdrops blooming I remembered how much Wayne over there at Vancouver Daily Photo delights in these spring flower photos from Victoria. So, Wayne, this one's for you, but it's only the beginning. The Annual Spring Flower count is yet to come!
When I posted a photo of these snowdrops emerging from the ground in early January, Priyanka Khot of the Delhi Photo Diary requested a photo of them blooming so, Priyanka, this is also for you.

Oh yeah, I'm beside myself with glee.
For those who may not know the background, Victorians derive a great deal of twisted pleasure from counting flower blooms while most of the rest of the country (not Vancouver) is still wading through snow up to their knees.

Oh that's just GREAT. Now he won't be able to get his head throught the Portal. Well I will admit we are having a bit of early arrival down here in B"ham as well. Warm, cold, warm , f reezing, warm....you get he picture. We never never know what's up and neither do our bulbs and flowers. This is a lovely reminder that spring is coming soon.

Excellent Capture Wayne spring for you is comming!
I sooo needed to see this photo this morning. The snowdrops and the photo are beautiful! Thanks for sharing with all of us!
I've been told that Victoria is close to two weeks (or thereabouts) ahead of Vancouver with blooms? Even the cherry trees?
I love snowdrops, they truly mean S P R I N G !!!
But unfortunately my snowdrops are still buried under 3 feet of snow.
Thanks all for your kind words.
Jabba, I suspect our early spring is a result of lots of sunshine (almost exactly double what Vancouver gets annually). Victoria also averages half as much rain as Vancouver.
These snow drops bring me so much more pleasure than the snow that was dropping today in the Boston area. It will be at least 2 more months until mine pop through the frozen ground. Thanks for the lovely touch of spring.
That's absolutely beautiful! I love macro!
