Marsh Wren (Cistothorus palustris)

As I wandered amongst the bullrushes that line the edges of Swan Lake the other morning I became aware of what sounded like a large bird belting out a lusty territorial song. After some time I discovered that this volume of sound was actually coming from a very small bird, this little Marsh Wren (Cistothorus palustris).

Wonderful capture. Sure looks like she's belting out a song. And, it looks like maybe she's been busy making a nest with that fuzzy substance wrapped around her back claws.

I've seen these birds. It's amazing, the volume of song they pump out of those tiny lungs...

Great close-up of an amazing little guy in action, belting out their beautiful song.
We have a near identical one singing in the trees on the inner harbour.
Even with zoom, you must have gotten quite close for this.
One of your best yet, Benjamin !
