Situated on the far west coast of Canada, on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, Victoria is the capital city of the Province of British Columbia. Its benign climate (the warmest winters in Canada) and placid lifestyle make it a favorite retirement location as well as a popular tourist destination. About 400,000 people live in Victoria and adjacent communities.

Dear Sir - that is in North Saanich and not Sidney (definitely not Sydney - that is in Australia) Cheers!
I never had a chance to make it up to actually see Sidney. I've only been there twice to take the Washington State Ferry back here, and I had breakfast in town too.
My daughter lives near Sidney and when I go to Canada to visit I really enjoy the town because it has many book and craft stores. Also some great fish & chips!

Thank you all for your kind words and for keeping me straight on my facts! Sidney is a beautiful town, and not to be mistaken for North Saanich. Both are well worth a visit.
