Snow 2

Our snow is pretty much gone now although that's not to say we won't get any more. Actually the snow on the walkway here just provides me with an excuse to post this photo. It's taken using an adapter I just got that allows me to use old Pentax Takumar lenses on my Sony camera. I have accumulated a bunch of these lenses from thrift stores over the last few years (50mm, 55mm, 105mm, 135mm, 200mm) and with the new adapter they are producing pictures I like very much.

Selkirk Trestle 2 - Looking Southeast

Here is the view from the middle of the Selkirk Trestle looking south towards the city centre. The green area on the left is Point Ellice, with the Point Ellice (Bay Street) Bridge visible closer to the centre of the photo. On the right, just behind the trees is the Railyards condominium development with the Dockside Green development behind it.

Skyline

This is a photo that initially I disregarded but then decided to take a second look. Why? This is interesting to me. What is it that makes me come back to this one? Let's see if I can answer my own question. I think it's a combination of things; the color and rich texture of the wall on the left that until dusk would be unnoticeable but is revealed at dusk as are the clouds which contrast so sharply from the solid lines of the buildings. It's that juxtaposition of color, light and shapes that create an interesting landscape to me. - Fern
