Kitesurfing
Birds are not the only thing in the waters off Clover Point these days. When the sun broke through on Friday the blustery winds attracted some kitesurfers, one of whom is pictured above. Now this looks like fun but this guy must have been cold. Despite the lovely aquamarine tinge of the water, the wind was icy. Kitesurfing is on the verge of becoming an Olympic sport. People have kitesurfed across the Atlantic.

I love your perspective in this one. Great shot! Greetings from Spain.
Wonderful elements in the shot, from the kite surfing to the water to the rocks.
It looks like fun but I would be afraid to try it!
With the freighter in the distance, it is clear this is a long telephoto shot, but surely those are not houses below the Olympic Mountains, all the way across the Strait of Juan de Fuca?
Yes that wind was cold yesterday. Lovely show with the freighter in the background.
Thanks all for your kind comments.
@Dean: No - this is looking west from Clover Point. The rocky point visible here is Finlayson Point (Beacon Hill Park) and the houses visible beyond are in Metchosin. But yes, this was taken with a long telephoto lens - 400mm.
