The Hands of Time 9 - Raising a Teacup

Here's another in the Hands of Time sculpture series by Crystal Przybille, this one entitled "Raising a Teacup". It is installed on a lamp standard on the corner of Government and Humboldt Streets with the Empress Hotel and its world famous afternoon tea service providing the perfect backdrop. "This sculpture references Victoria's traditional customary and historical connections to Britain."

Situated on the far west coast of Canada, on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, Victoria is the capital city of the Province of British Columbia. Its benign climate (the warmest winters in Canada) and placid lifestyle make it a favorite retirement location as well as a popular tourist destination. About 400,000 people live in Victoria and adjacent communities.

one of my friends is on her way to Victoria today. She lived there a few years ago; she & I met up when I went in 2010, but she now lives in Ottawa. I've told her to keep a lookout for these hands.
Really enjoying these series of sculptures.
So that's where that one is to be found. I went in search of it and forgot to look up. At least it's not as high as the one at City Hall. LOL
