While out at the Fisgard Lighthouse earlier in the week I was lucky to see the Canadian Navy's HMCS Algonquin entering Esquimalt Harbour, pictured above. The Esquimalt Canadian Forces Base is the headquarters of Canada's Maritime Forces Pacific.

Beautiful photo! And welcome home Algonquin. How long were they gone, if you know?
I still am unable to post anything from your blog to FB. I wanted my friend Moriah to see this b/c her husband is in the Canadian Navy and used to live in Victoria. I tried 'liking' this too and also got an error message. I get a message saying that it's 'spam'.
Sorry for the third comment, but this is what FB says: You can't post this because it has a blocked link.: The content you're trying to share includes a link that's been blocked for being spammy or unsafe:Body of an error/warning message. Title is: You can't post this because it has a blocked link. For more information, visit the Help Center.
Hi JoJo,
Sorry, I don't know how long the Algonquin was away.
Sorry, also about Facebook. I can't help you much because I am one of the few people in the universe who has no Facebook account so I have no access to the inner workings. I have a few ads on my blog but nothing spammy that I know of. Frankly, Facebook's distrust of my pages is reciprocal. However, there are some Facebook pages that do use my photos - see one called "I love Downtown Victoria" - it posts my photos occasionally. If you wanted to post one of my photos to your FB page you can just right-click and download it to your computer, then upload it or stick it to your wall or somebody else's wall or whatever. FB might allow that - who knows?
Terrific shot, and quite a ship.
