Situated on the far west coast of Canada, on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, Victoria is the capital city of the Province of British Columbia. Its benign climate (the warmest winters in Canada) and placid lifestyle make it a favorite retirement location as well as a popular tourist destination. About 400,000 people live in Victoria and adjacent communities.

Is that the only observatory in the Victoria area? If so, my old friend Nigel worked there for awhile. He's an astrophysicist and currently works up in the Boston area, but he has fond memories of his time on the island and going to The Sticky Wicket.
Hi JoJo, Your friend probably worked at the other observatory here, the Dominion Astrophysical Observatory. It is still a working observatory while the Gonzales Observatory in today's photo is not longer in use as an observatory. Really like the composition of this, how the sky, quite appropriately is such a major/dominant element.
And what beautiful hue and smooth graduation of tone. I can just feel what a clear day it must have been.
