Kewl! Do you happen to know if these are edible as Fiddleheads? My roomie and I used to go into the woods at our college in Maine, in the spring, and pick them. Then cook 'em up in the hotpot and eat w/ butter and salt. YUM!
I've always loved this time of year because the ferns are still unfurling. Reminds me of the rule of proportions in nature (the golden ratio)-- so fascinating!
Situated on the far west coast of Canada, on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, Victoria is the capital city of the Province of British Columbia. Its benign climate (the warmest winters in Canada) and placid lifestyle make it a favorite retirement location as well as a popular tourist destination. About 400,000 people live in Victoria and adjacent communities. Click the photos to see them larger!

Unfortunately i think not. We can get fiddleheads imported from New Brunswick in some local stores.
Love Benjamin's closeups.
