The Hands of Time 2 - Holding a Railway Spike

Here's another of the Hands of Time public art sculpture series, this one showing a hand holding a railway spike. It projects from the bottom of a lamp post on Wharf Street, located near the former downtown terminus of the E & N Railway and reminds us of the history and impact of the railroad on Vancouver Island.

I assume you must have a map or guide to all the hands?

Hi JoJo, yes there is a map available on the city website: http://www.victoria.ca/EN/meta/news/news-archives/2013-archive/free-walking-tours-of-the-hands-of-time-150th-anniversary-public-artwork.html. Since pretty well all of the hands are in the downtown core it would make a nice walking tour to visit them all in an afternoon. The hands are life-size but they don't stick out so you have to look for them a little.

These are all very cool.
Hope there are none near the cemetery though. Just sayin'.

Oh, I like that. It's a bit creepy, but that's what makes it work!
