Oh, but I love it! I want to throw money at it, and restore it with as much of its originality as possible. Such lives have been lived in such places, and they speak to us still...
Happy Halloween to all and thanks for your kind remarks.
Elaine, this building is a bit of a bone of contention between the heritage people (restore it!) and the pragmatic real estate owner (it costs a fortune to restore a building like this), so it sits there getting more dilapidated every day.
Mo, yes it looks scary in the day although not so much - a lot of crackheads and shopping cart people hang about in its shadows.
KG - we see lightning so seldom in these parts I might have had to wait for months.
.escamilla, I hope you're enjoying Victoria. This building is at the foot of Pandora Street opposite Swans Hotel and next to the E & N Railway terminal.
Hey Benjamin, Mrs. Snapper and I were in Victoria yesterday and had tea at Murchies with Sarah Tradewell and her father. Thanks again for making that connection for us. They are delightful people.
Also, I've nominated you for something called the Kreativ Blogger award so drop by GDP and see how it works. Pass it on.
Situated on the far west coast of Canada, on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, Victoria is the capital city of the Province of British Columbia. Its benign climate (the warmest winters in Canada) and placid lifestyle make it a favorite retirement location as well as a popular tourist destination. About 400,000 people live in Victoria and adjacent communities. Click the photos to see them larger!

Great choice for Halloween. Does it look scary in the day?

'you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave'
Don't ask me why I thought of that.
Great image Benjamin.
This is slightly interesting, my word verification is, cultst. It's almost spooky.
Great choice for the season, Ben! Somewhat mindful of a certain old house above the Bate's Motel.
Wonderful, Benjamin! Like Elaine I'd like to restore it, then again I have a thing about beautiful entropy.
Nuh Uh! It's too scawey for me.! (But it is a really cool building but I'm still not going in !)
Love it. Appeals to my inner(ok when i was younger) goth.
Ohhh....spooky for sure. No way would I even go near this place on Halloween!
