In a photograph of the Legislative Assembly Building I posted in September there is a fountain in the foreground. Around the outer rim of this fountain are sculptures of four animals important in the mythologies of the native peoples of British Columbia. Above is a raven. Below is an eagle. There are also small sculptures of a bear and a wolf and, in the center of this fountain a few stone sea otters.

Wow! Strong sculptures...and a lovely fountain.
excellent work also here
The bottom makes me laugh. That bird looks like it has an attitude problem...or that it's a show off.
I like the soft light on the eagle's wings. That looks like a lovely fountain too, with the circular array of spouts.
Thanks all for your kind remarks.
Michaela, I agree about the eagle. When I was posting these I began to wonder if it was done by a different sculptor. Its stance is so artificial in comparison to the much more realistic raven.
Elaine, these sculptures are easy to touch and so are worn a little pleasantly smooth by people and kids. It is a nice fountain and I have about 400 shots of the watery aspects of it for posting one day when I have nothing else....
