A few days ago I posted a photo of the BC Legislative Assembly Buildings that generated some interesting comments around the topic of bilateral symmetry that I, unfortunately, do not have time properly to reply to now. As a bit of a response, however, I submit this photo of the garden patio at the Cafe d'Art, which is in James Bay on Superior Street, only a few blocks from where I took the photo of the Legislative Assembly Building, and which strikes me as one artist's answer to the question of why we are here and what we are doing.

Well, if that doesn't throw visitors into an Existentialist funk, I don't know what would! Victoria does indeed harbor surprises. 8^)
so what does this mean? we're all in the same tree?
Hey Benjamin, if you have time would you mind stopping back by GDP? Your comment on my photo called Bounty elicited more discussion and while I did my best to address the questions, your further input might be helpful. Thanks!
Oh no. My initial reaction is simply fear. I don't do dolls, dummies of any kind. Afterall. Exhibitionists you see. ust look at them.

Couple o'those inflatable swains look familiar, though.
I'm distressed that uselaine has pointed me to your blog. Twice now. Each time it's been interesting, delightful, thought-provoking. I recognize your commenters and feel the same about them.
I don't have time, I tell you! Why do you have to be so damned intriguing? How am I ever going to get anything accomplished? Really! It's more than I can bear.
Knoxville Girl, I'd be proud to be in the same tree with you....
Babooshka, I don't do dolls either.
Bernie - I was just thinking about random collisions.
Petrea, sorry, I have to go lie down now. I can't get the Depends package open and it's all just too much.
