Dredge

Canoeists paddle past a dredge deepening the Inner Harbour off the Songhees Walkway. This is the first stage in the building of a new marina that in addition to berths for 29 super-yachts (65 to 100 feet), will also house a restaurant and a coffee house. Songhees Walkway strollers will not be blocked but future canoeists will need to paddle beneath the buildings to avoid other Inner Harbour water traffic. Out for a Stroll

The sun came out on Wednesday and warm weather brought Victorians of all kinds out for a stroll or a run or a graze. These Canada Geese went for a swim later but the rest of us were content with walking or running around. The photo was taken in Rainbow Park, a tiny little green space on the Songhees Walkway.

A Favorite Viewpoint

Here's a look at downtown Victoria from across the Harbour on the Songhees side of the Johnston Street Bridge. I always like to stop here and admire our little city from this vantage point especially now when the blossoms are at their loveliest. - Fern
