Here's another spring flower that is always a joy to see, Daffodils. While they are not native to this continent, they have naturalized themselves in Victoria and clumps and patches of them brighten bits of vacant lots and open land. Those pictured here are blooming on the Matson Lands just above the West Bay Walkway, below Swallow's Landing.

Situated on the far west coast of Canada, on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, Victoria is the capital city of the Province of British Columbia. Its benign climate (the warmest winters in Canada) and placid lifestyle make it a favorite retirement location as well as a popular tourist destination. About 400,000 people live in Victoria and adjacent communities.

There's a huge daffodil festival in Pierce County in April with parades and stuff. They are popular out here too.
They're a sight for sore eyes! Lovely!
