Royal BC Museum

Every January the Royal BC Museum waives its usual entrance fee and has a weekend of entrance by donation. We went particularly to see the photo exhibit of the year's best nature photos. If you're in Victoria check out "Wildlife Photographer of the Year." Great and inspiring photos.

When I'm in the museum I can never resist photographing the wonderful Woolly Mammoth in the natural diorama part of the museum. That area is always full of kids bent over the information panels and peering into the wonderfully realistic forest and seashore settings.

If the Japanese scientists have their way you could perhaps be photographing a real mammoth sometime in the future. Here in the UK we are lucky because all our national museums have no entrance fee.

I love this pic of the woolly mammoth! Very captivating - But my favorite shot today is the one of the children. Amazing!

I walked by this museum tons of times but my already packed itinerary never allowed any room for me to venture inside. Great shot of the Wooly!

This time of year it's a great place for a visitor to spend a rainy day - I've done it several times.

Happy New Year Benjamin.
Our RBC Museum is really good, especially the natural history displays, marine life and the indigenous people's section.
I'm really looking forward to seeing the current nature photo display you took in.

Visited the museum today to see the Dinosaur Exhibit and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. I live in Victoria but hadn't been to the museum for years. Glad I went it was awesome.
