Shadow Play

The Inner Harbour Causeway faces westward so that in the late afternoon and evening interesting shadows form on the sidewalk and back wall.

Parting is Such Sweet Sorrow

This might sound a touch strange but at this time of year when the flowers are beginning to bloom and the days are getting longer I always have a touch of sadness for the winter's passing. Why? Because while I am looking forward to so many things in spring I will miss the oft overlooked beauty of the tree's shadow, like this one. Like a snowflake no two are alike. - Fern

Safe Mode 2

Fleming Beach

I never tire of this lovely stretch of coast in Esquimalt. In the spring the municipality put up fencing to protect the indigenous plant life in the area and I think it creates fasinating shadows as the hill curves up and around. - Fern
