| In the mountains above Osoyoos in the southern interior of British Columbia is a fragile grasslands. It is a beautiful place, windswept and open to the heavens. I was happy to see this splash of mauve among the Sagebrush, Bunchgrass, Yarrow and Black-Eyed Susans. Locally it's called the Mariposa Lily. Wikipedia idenifies it as one of many species of Calochortus, probably Calochortus gunnisonii |  |

Wow, superb! Especially the last one capturing the rain-cloud falling into the valley. This is the kind of photos Ansel Adams would be making today if he was still around.
Picture perfect shots. I like this beautiful area. Two years ago we walked there from Keremeos across Fairview to Oliver across Mt. Baldy to Rock Creek. And it was very hot with little shade. Well worth the effort. And lovely places to pich a tent.
