Mall Time

I spent the morning in a kind of place found in pretty well every city and town on this planet - the mall. Victoria has a half dozen of these and this one, the Bay Mall downtown, is my favorite Christmas shopping venue. It wasn't too crowded this morning but on the weekend it will be packed.I hope you have all your Christmas shopping done!

If you want color during these gray winter days the best place to find it is in the mall. This one is on Douglas Street downtown and is a nice bright warm place to spend an afternoon (as well as all of your disposable income.)

Yes, 21 - that's how many shopping days remain until Christmas. I suspect your local retailers are keeping you well informed of this. Here's a photo of one of our local malls, the Bay Centre, all dolled up for the season.

Mall Near the End of the Oil Age

I realize that I operate as if my way of life is going to continue pretty much as it is forever. I suspect that's because I live as if I too were going to just go on and on and on. At twilight however I sometimes see my ordinary existence with nostalgia, as if I were looking back at the past from a future far different from what we can even imagine.
