More Crocuses
These colours are wonderfully refreshing after the browns and grays of autumn and winter. Beacon Hill Park is looking good.

Crocuses
Seeing Fern's photo of snowdrops a few days ago reminded me that I had not checked Beacon Hill Park for spring flowers yet this year. It has been so mild lately that it seems that spring has already arrived and the glorious burst of crocuses pictured above would seem to confirm it. These are planted crocuses in beds but the escaped crocuses are also peeping out all over the park and we'll have a look at them tomorrow.

Crocuses
Another favourite harbinger of spring, these crocuses are popping up in gardens all over the city. Their brilliant yellows and purples always remind me of Easter and I wonder if the association of those colours with Easter is because of the flowers or for some other reason.

Crocuses
Around this time of year Beacon Hill Park starts to erupt with flowers, a cascade that will carry on until autumn comes again. These crocuses in their brilliant purple, yellow and white always remind me of Easter. They are a sure sign that winter is coming to an end.

Crocuses
The City Daily Photo Blog context is very comfortable to work within. One can look at those things that make one's city unique and identifiable but one is also free to examine those things that are more universal. I've tended to focus more on Victoria-specific subjects and in this second year of blogging I want to try my hand at subjects that, while they are set in Victoria, are not unique or specific to Victoria. I am also interested in making pictures rather than just taking pictures. For me this means more effort spent in setting up the photo before clicking the shutter but also doing a little more work after the shutter has been clicked.
