Worth a Second Look 6

Here's a couple of photos from the summer 2011 when, in case you haven't noticed, I discovered HDR processing and, like many of its early practitioners, pushed it to the max. I still like these photos (the top one actually won a prize in a local photo contest) but I'm happy that I now have learned to use HDR with a little more restraint. The top photo is of a friend's vintage restored truck and the photo below was taken on a trip to the beautiful nearby city of Seattle, Washington, in the USA.

Somewhere Saturday - Cawston, BC

At this time of year summer seems like a long time in the past and an even longer time in the future so I thought today I would post a bit of summer sunshine I enjoyed a couple of years ago in Cawston, a small community in the Similkameen Valley in the southern interior of British Columbia. The area is officially classed as a semi-arid desert and up in the hills there's lots of Prickly Pear Cactus, scorpions and rattlesnakes. But down in the valley where water is available it's lush and green.

Summer Dreams

I'm indulging myself this week with a lazy browse through the archives. Today's photo is not Victoria but is from a trip I took to the interior of the province a couple of years ago. I can almost feel summertime heat radiating from this photo.
