Fisgard Lighthouse
Here is the back story to yesterday's photo of two children: They were standing on the rock that is in the foreground of the above photo. I took this photo then walked lower down and to the left to take some shots of the lighthouse from the side. Meanwhile a man and his two sons passed me. He posed his boys for a photo in front of the lighthouse and I snapped yesterday's photo from below and behind them. This building is one of the best known and most picturesque of local landmarks, the Fisgard Lighthouse. It's the oldest lighthouse on Canada's West Coast and is a Canadian National Historic site. It's a photographer's dream subject that looks good in any light, any season and from any angle.

Well done! Those clouds are amazing. I like that you included the water. I can see what you mean that it's a photographer's dream.
ReplyDeleteAwesome and dramatic...

ReplyDeleteExcellent photo and excellent angle. This summer I will be travelling through Maine, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. I intend to photograph lots of lighthouses. I only hope I can do the great job you did.
ReplyDeleteThat is a stuning and dramatic photo! I deeply regret running out of time in Oct. as I really wanted to drive out here, but I was beachcombing at Willows Beach way longer than I'd intended.
ReplyDeleteYesterday's photo was charming and today's photo is very dramatic! Love them both.
ReplyDeleteNice and dramatic sky, lovely colours too. I have just finished reading a book about the Lighthouse Stevensons, the Scottish family who built between them many fine lighthouses.
ReplyDeleteThis photo is a photographer's dream.
ReplyDeleteTerrific!
ReplyDeleteLovely composition.
Wow, powerful !
ReplyDeleteFantastic. This photo and the angle captures beautifully the grandeur of the height and drama of Fisgard Lighthouse. One of the best ever taken of it.
You're really on a roll this week Benjamin.
What a beautiful shot! Good job.
ReplyDeleteThis is really a striking photograph that just grabs the eyeballs. The whites and blues of the sky and the sea, the rocks, the strong white towe thrusting upward, and the rustic red building. Everything is perfect.
ReplyDeleteWhat might seem like a trivial detail, the distant cloud formation in the lower right adds a strong element of depth to further complement an already terrific photograph.
