The forest trails leading to these spectacular West Coast beaches are very lush and beautiful. Here are a couple of wild flowers I noticed during our visit. On the left is a Dwarf Dogwood or Bunchberry (Cornus canadensis) and on the right is a Common Self-heal (Prunella vulgaris) |
Now that is one beautiful forest and trail ! I can feel myself there.
ReplyDeleteGreat botanical 'captures'.
I've never seen the flower on the right....it's strange looking!
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely going to have to check this beach out the next time I'm up there. Is it a long or arduous hike from the parking lot to the beach?
ReplyDeleteThe trail photo reminds me of the very magical first time I went to China Beach, hiking down the steep and meandering trail through the lush forest to the first glimpse and growing proximity and sound of the magnificient open ocean and beach below. An unforgettable combo.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dean.
ReplyDeleteJabba - yes, it's thanks to your recent blog that I made it out to this area.
JoJo - if I can hike it, it's an easy walk....
