Snow
Well, it may not look like much but this is what is happening outside right now. And posting this mediocre photo is a triumph of sorts in that I suffered a computer crash yesterday afternoon that deprived me not only of access to the internet but also to all my photo files and processing software. However, as of this afternoon I have a new computer and some hope of recovering lost files and software from the old one, so I am enjoying the white stuff piling up out there and feeling cozy and busy inside. Tomorrow I'll get out there and take some real photos.

New computer! Right on! I love the light absolutely pouring from that vehicle in the middle distance. Great work, Benjamin.
ReplyDeleteHey, Ben, looks cold, but lovely. Like that shot! We're in Omaha at the moment and surprisingly, we have no snow. We'll be back home in PT just in time for some white stuff it seems.
ReplyDeleteSnow what's that, I am 44 years old and have never seen it except on TV and in photos. Your lucky in that aspect. I also can sympathize with you about the computer and photo files. I lost all mine and emailed every friend I had and asked if you save any of the pics I emailed can you send them back. I now have a monthly date of backing up my files on disk. I never want to lose my frozen moments of time again. Most computer repair shops have programs that can retrieve the files, but of course I did not know that until I had it no more.
ReplyDeleteLOL, welcome to my world. On my blog, check out the weather update on the sidebar, its minus 45C today with the windchill....ridiculous...lol. Great pic by the way,
ReplyDeleteCheers

I do like the image, but hope you avoided getting hit by that car...
ReplyDeleteIt's so beautiful purely because I will possibly not see this here this year.
ReplyDeleteElaine, yes it's nice to have a new computer and the snow is interesting visually, certainly.
ReplyDeleteRaf, extend your stay in Omaha - maybe drop by Arizona for a few months....
Robin, snow is undeniably lovely, but cold!
Guy, yes I spent my childhood on the prairies and remember it well. At least here it will likely be gone in a week or two (knock wood!)
Kris, drivers in Victoria are notoriously inept at driving in the snow and the driver in the photo was only going about walking pace. It snowed again this morning and all morning I heard the whine of spinning tires on the hill outside my apartment as drivers careened from side to side. The city finally closed the road since drivers seemed unable to grasp the concept of choosing a more level route without some form of guidance.
Babooshka, like we say the "grass is always greener on the other side of the road" snow is always more beautiful when it's in someone else's driveway.
OMG! We did not expect this in Victoria when we booked our Christmas trip!
ReplyDeleteWonder if there is such a thing as snowing cancellation insurance, lol. We actually had the same weather here, less the wind. All in all, great shot!
