Clear Air

One of Victoria's special characteristics is that it has no smog. I imagine that is because we almost always have a little breeze coming in from the ocean. But while the air is always clear there are times, especially after we have had a bit of rain, when the air is magnificently clear. The last evening of the Classic Boat Festival was like that and here are a few photos where I have tried to capture that clarity.

Situated on the far west coast of Canada, on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, Victoria is the capital city of the Province of British Columbia. Its benign climate (the warmest winters in Canada) and placid lifestyle make it a favorite retirement location as well as a popular tourist destination. About 400,000 people live in Victoria and adjacent communities.

It looks like ideal conditions for a stroll.
It really is one of the cleanest cities I've ever seen...at least the Inner Harbour area is! I confess I never really ventured beyond there, Craigdarroch Castle and Willows Beach.
