Yesterday's photo was of the southwest corner of the Douglas and Fort Streets intersection. Today's photo is of the southeast corner of that intersection. These photos make me realize anew how important money is in our culture, not just as a means to get other things but in itself. I'm sure lots of profound things could be said about money but I'll leave that to people better informed than myself.

I think you understand banks well considering you've added the word 'squirrel' in the tag-labels.

Ha ha. Initially I had a long diatribe against banks and banking and then I edited it. But it looks like my unvoiced disapproval of banks sneaked through there.... (The Douglas Squirrel tag is directly above the Douglas Street tag in the tag list and got clicked by mistake.)

To borrow from someone else's diatribe:

“If a man has an apartment stacked to the ceiling with newspapers we call him crazy. If a woman has a trailer house full of cats we call her nuts. But when people pathologically hoard so much cash that they impoverish the entire nation, we put them on the cover of Fortune magazine and pretend they are role models.”

Don't get me started on banks and the huge bailout they got while the rest of us lost our homes. Their CEOs even gave themselves bonuses with that money. Grrrr.
