You are 100% right, that mushroom cap does look like creme brulee!!!!
I couldn't find a translation of the above, but he does have a nice blog with photos a lot like yours.

ngawangchodron, thanks for the link. There are some beautiful shots there - very inspirational. I expect to take a lot more mushroom/fungi shots in the coming months.
