USS Ronald Reagan

Here's another photo from the recent Navy and Parks Canada celebrations out at Fort Rodd Hill. To the left of the Fisgard Lighthouse, that enormous ship is the USS Ronald Reagan, an American aircraft carrier that is here for the Canadian Navy's Fleet Review. The ship carries about 6,000 servicemen and over 60 combat aircraft. Click HERE to read the FAQ.

Very nice composition and lighting!

Did you get to the airshow off Saxe Point?

I was waiting to see what you would come up with for these ships! And as usual, you don't disappoint.
It's huge, I'm glad you caught it in perspective to the lighthouse.

Gorgeous! Are those seagulls on the ground at the lighthouse?

Thanks Mike - no, I missed the air show.

Thanks Jabba and JoJo. Those white things on the ground are part of the Luminara light show that happened a bit later - they are actually just white shopping bags with lights inside them that were lit as it got darker.

I am not fond of anything military, but I love your composition!

A beautiful crisp photo of one good chunk of the American military machine which accounts for 40% of the world total.
