Steamship Terminal

On Sunday I went down to the Inner Harbour to take some video of the Harbour Ferry Ballet. I didn't get the video I wanted so I'll have to go back again. Hopefully I'll have a video for you next week. But, I did get some photos of the Steamship Terminal, my personal favorite of the three Rattenbury-designed buildings flanking the Inner Harbour.

  1. I passed by that building so many times. Can you go inside? It always looked like it was empty and closed.

  2. @William - I think it adds a lot to the Inner Harbour with its classical style.

@JoJo: Yes, the bottom floor is now a restaurant and a Starbucks. There is also a small Robert Bateman gallery and gift shop but I think much of the building (upper floors) is still looking for a tenant. The Ross Crockford article I link to in Thursday's post has some discussion of various possibilities for the building.
