Gonzales Observatory

Take a few steps back from yesterday's photo and you will see Gonzales Observatory. It's no longer a functioning observatory but it's such a beautiful building that I don't care. It always reminds me of those photos of white Greek villages perched on rocky hilltops overlooking the Mediterranean.

  1. What is it used for now? I am pretty sure one of my friends worked there briefly in the late 80s or 90s. He's an astrophysicist. In fact I'm sure he did because we've traded stories about our fave haunts in Victoria and he loved the Sticky Wicket as much as I did.

  2. It is a beautiful building, and in such a grand location, too.

  3. @JoJo: The property is managed now by The Land Conservancy, a conservation group but aside from using the building as occasional office space I don't think it is utilized at all.
