It's been several years since I visited
the house in James Bay where Emily Carr grew up and spent much of her adult life. When I stopped there last Sunday, however, I discovered it is only open during the tourist season from May until September. A National Historic Site, it's well worth a visit. It's a lovely old house still looking as good, I'm sure, as when our most famous artist lived there.
Very pretty home. I see they have holiday lights up. Wonder what it looks like at night? Does anyone live there?
ReplyDeleteThat is a very fine building. I looked at some of her work. Impressive career.
ReplyDeleteSome of the old houses inVictoria are really beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI have visited this spot a few times when it was opened.
ReplyDeleteThanks all for your kind comments.
ReplyDelete@JoJo - You asked a few days ago about Victoria's Xmas Lights - I plan to go out some evening soon and take a few pics for you.
And yes, when I visited the Carr House a few years ago there was a family living there. The lower part of the house is restored in Victorian fashion and I think the family lives in the upper part of the house.
