Mosquito Control - Swan Lake
Yes I know it looks like the birthplace of the Creature from the Black Lagoon but it's actually much more benign. There are swampy areas around the edges of Swan Lake that are perfect breeding grounds for potentially disease-bearing Culex Mosquitoes. However, mosquito larvae require still water to develop so the swampy areas at Swan Lake are aerated to prevent the growth of these insects.

I loathe those little pests. We had a very buggy summer b/c it was so humid that nothing ever dried out. I'm so vigilant about dumping all standing water after rain. Heartworm in dogs is a problem out here so I keep my area mosquito free.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting shot.
ReplyDeleteMosquitoes: the reason I love dragonflies and bats. They gorge themselves on the little menaces.
