Beautiful bird, thanks for showing
ReplyDeleteVery sweet little bird, well shown.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty birds! Spring's coming!
ReplyDeleteI live a block from the lake so our feeders get lots of relatively 'exotic' birds that I've periodically featured in my own blog.
ReplyDeleteRe: eagles. About a month ago we were witness to one of those 'can't look away' situations when an eagle grabbed a seagull out of the air and proceeded to pluck it and eat it in a neighbour's tree while it was still flopping about.
Re: songbirds. A lot of songbirds around Swan Lake are being decimated by domestic cats. A couple of years ago the TC reported that one species of ground bird in the area had been hunted out of existence.
Nature has a way of getting even though -- we also have a lot of missing cat posters in our neighbourhood and I suspect more than a few have wound up as a meal for the big eagles that fly over the lake.
The top shot really demonstrates how the background bokah produces a 3-D effect.
