Here we are already in the last week before school starts - for me the signal that summer is nearly over. And it seems like it's only just begun. It came and went much too quickly this year. I took the above photo last evening when I noticed on my way home that the sunset colors were particularly vivid. It was taken from the Westsong Walkway at the bottom of Mary Street in Vic West.
When it comes to sunsets, it would be hard to beat the ones over Lake Huron, seen from the sandy beaches of Goderich, On. (I was there just a few days before it was flattened by a tornado...).
ReplyDeleteI've posted a couple to my blog, but most have been going to my Facebook page. Check this out:

They've actually won awards for their sunset views.
Locally, another fabulous spot is the beach of Montague Provincial Park on Galiano Island. People gather on the beach at night with chairs and wine just to sit and admire the spectacular view of the sun setting behind the islands to the west.
This is a terrific shot!
ReplyDeleteNot to get overly analytical, :) but .. sunsets might be the most photographed of all our world has to offer. Shifting beautiful hues of back-lit and under-lit ever-changing cloud formations, with an infinite variety of dramatic silhouetted subjects in the foreground ... all confirms why a Google Images search comes up with over 47 million hits.
Beautiful skies and cloud formations! I, for one, am glad summer's over.
ReplyDeleteVery nice sunset. Like your photo's
