House Finch (Carpodacus mexicanus)

Here's a pair of House Finches (Carpodacus mexicanus), birds that are quite commonly seen here all year round.

  1. Is that the colourful male on the right and female on the left, if you know?

  2. The red chest, and if it was on the top of the head would tell me these are Redpolls ( Carduelis flammea ), another finch.
They come in a lot of variations.
