Snowdrops

Though it's cloudy and gray out today it's impossible not to enjoy these snowdrops that have just started blooming in the last few days. There are about 20 different species of this flower in the genus Galanthus and I have no idea which species these are. I've posted two photos of them (taken with different lenses) because I can't decide which I like best.

  1. Thanks to El Nino, that might be the only snow the Olympics see over on the mainland....

  2. The look like nice little light bulbs.

  3. How I looked forward to seeing the first snowdrops as a child living on Vancouver Island. That along with the first pussy willows, trilliums and violets would give me such a thrill. I like both your photos as well!

  4. I think I remember you posting these little jewels about the same time last year, Ben. Lovely and refreshing to see this time of year. I like your first image best because of sharper focus and contrast on the flowers.
