Sidney

About 20 kilometers northeast of Victoria on the Saanich Peninsula is the small seaside town of Sidney, a delightful place to spend an afternoon.Just offshore from Sidney lies Sidney Spit, accessible by ferry from the town of Sidney or by sailboat if you're lucky enough to have one in the family. Below is a video I shot of a sailing excursion we made out to Sidney Spit, starring my two granddaughters, Molly and Rosie.

    We sailed to Sidney Spit last summer with our friend Chris. It was gorgeous!! Your video brings back memories.

    That yellow flower you saw on the beach is called Yellow Sand-Verbena, I just looked it up in our native plants of BC book!
    (Any chance I get to identify native plants....I'm all over it.)

    I've always loved this video, despite the fact that I'm not in it. Anyone who doesn't think it's great should be made to walk the plank. I'm glad you found the opportunity to show it to a wider audience.
