Victoria Conference Centre

In yesterday's post I mentioned that the Crystal Gardens is now a part of the Victoria Conference Centre. The photo above is a glimpse into the centre's lobby, certainly worth a visit if only to see its magnificent collection of totem poles and other native works of art.

  1. I thought this might be the building attached to the Empress when I saw it on the CDP update page. Very nicely composed!

  2. Whoa! Turquoise! I don't often think of it with southern Canada.

  3. Thanks Chuck and you're right on the money: the doorway visible in the far background leads directly into the lobby of the Empress.

Elaine, I think I chose to post this photo because of the turquoise - it's such a nice warm color compared to the rather gray and gloomy skies outside lately.

  4. Look at these colors! I love totem poles too. (Too bad we don't have any.) Thanks for the view.

  6. The color, shape and sheer action in this photo make me think of the word Galore!

Yet it's not overwhelming or icky. It's lovely. How'd you do that?
