Urban trompe l'oeil

First, a tip of the hat to my fellow City Daily Photo Blogger from Willits, California, for drawing my attention to urban trompe l'oeil as public art through her post "Dog with Koi Pond." I suspect most cities have some instances of this style of art. The example above is on the front of a shop here in Victoria that sells mobility devices such as electric scooters and stair assists.

Thanks so much for the boost, Benjamin! This is a great example, but what I like even more is your perfect cropping of the shot - so many complete lines and perfect verticals are very satisfying to behold.

  2. For some unknown reason, I call those electric scooters 'zippies'. There are quite a few of them around our suburb. My favourite is the one with a bright orange flag that's parked outside the local pub all day, everyday; and you see this bloke in the early evening zipping down the footpath at the front of our house inevitably with a carton of beer loaded on the back!

  3. This is a great shot, we dont have murals and art on our stores here in Pakistan and this just seems amazing, we however have huge posters for low budget movies which are quite funny and entertaining, i guess i should take a picture of one of those and post on lahore daily.
