I thought about a canter of joggers - but it's not as euphonious as a trot. How about a gallop of runners? To me that suggests the speed and noise that runners generate....Benjamin Madisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10557453060872726741noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5583858833715089401.post-70493012177758502892010-10-04T14:01:23.305-07:002010-10-04T14:01:23.305-07:00Thanks Jack - I've been slow to come to it - e...Thanks Jack - I've been slow to come to it - exercise always seemed a little foolish to me.

Dean - joggernaut is great but the vision is disturbing.

JoJo - yes it seems my little exercise in neology has been successful.Benjamin Madisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10557453060872726741noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5583858833715089401.post-79475552216863574262010-10-04T13:55:45.325-07:002010-10-04T13:55:45.325-07:00As a runner, I have always hated the word 'tro...As a runner, I have always hated the word 'trot' to denote running. It's overused. Every Thanksgiving for the last 50 years, holiday races all over US have been called "Turkey Trots". Enough with the trots, already. If you want to capture the inner experience of a runner, and the appearance of a talented runner (though not me) to others, "a glide of runners" would suit better.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5583858833715089401.post-42162111616395941512010-10-04T13:34:07.717-07:002010-10-04T13:34:07.717-07:00I love it! 'Trot' ...Like the motion-blur caught here.

'Trot' works, short ..succinct. Something like 'pod' of whales.

For a very large trot, steamrolling along, endangering dog-walkers and lone individuals in their path, perhaps 'joggernaut' ... ?
-Dean Lewishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06517101319415981439noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5583858833715089401.post-38800279730870544582010-10-04T07:08:15.451-07:002010-10-04T07:08:15.451-07:00Trot of joggers! The American Heart Association encourages walking at least 10,000 steps (around five miles) a day. I make that most days.Jackhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03323811980627840654noreply@blogger.com
